What's new

You are on version 0.2.2, build 7796f9683064.

Version 0.2.2: Dock, away and nudge

Latest
  • Your chat heads work like a dock

Drag the grip to put them on the left, right or bottom edge of your screen. Pick their size, let them grow as your mouse passes over, and hide them until you need them. While hidden, a new message lights up the edge and peeks out; an urgent one always brings them back.

    Where: Settings, then Chat headshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app/settings

  • See when someone is away from their PC

When a colleague's PC is locked or idle for 10 minutes, or Teams shows them as Away, you see a grey dot and "away since 12:57pm". Messages you send them say they will hear it when they're back.

Nothing to click: it shows beside their name in your chat list

  • Nudge someone who hasn't heard your message

After a few minutes, a message nobody has played offers "Nudge". They get one tone and "Beth nudged you". Owners choose how long to wait first.

    Where: Console, then Ruleshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console/rules

  • One message plays at a time

Starting a message stops the one already playing, and the message toolbar stays easy to reach.

Nothing to click: press play on any message, as before

  • Other apps go quiet while a message plays

Music and video on your PC lower while a message plays, then go back to exactly where they were.

    Where: Settings, then Audiohttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app/settings/audio

  • A fresh look

BrightMesh Talk has a new green theme, in light and dark.

    Where: Settingshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app/settings

  • React, attach files and unsend

React to a message, mark it done, attach or paste files, delete a message for yourself or unsend it for everyone.

Nothing to click: hover any message to see its toolbar

Version 0.2.1: Add people your way

  • Add anyone to a conversation after they've joined

Owners and admins can now add a colleague, or a guest, to an existing group conversation from their page in the console. Guests keep the same end date.

    Where: Peoplehttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console/people

  • Invite colleagues from your Microsoft 365

Owners and admins can invite a colleague by their work email and copy a sign-in link to send them. They join when they first sign in with Microsoft. Owners can also invite someone as an admin.

    Where: Invite peoplehttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console/people/invite

  • Invite a guest without choosing a conversation first

You can now invite a guest before deciding where they belong. They sign in and see "Nothing has been shared with you yet" until you add them to a conversation from the Guests page.

    Where: Guestshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console/guests

  • Make a new conversation while you invite a guest

Inviting a guest and nothing to put them in yet? Type a name under the conversation list and press Create. It is made on the spot, ticked for you, and you stay on the same screen.

    Where: Invite a guesthttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console/guests/new

  • Invite a colleague straight from "Not joined yet"

If you own or manage the company, Invite on a colleague who hasn't joined now makes a real invitation for their work email. Copy the sign-in link and send it to them.

Nothing to click: Invite beside a colleague under "Not joined yet" in your chat list

  • Hold to talk works in your browser and on your phone

The first press asks for your microphone, then holding the button records. Recording also carries on for a moment after you let go, so your last word is never cut off.

Nothing to click: hold the talk button in any chat, as before

  • Updates install themselves when you're free

This version reached your PC through the new automatic updates. It downloaded quietly, waited until you weren't talking or on a call, then installed itself.

Nothing to click: updates arrive by themselves

Version 0.2.0: BrightMesh Talk

  • We're now called BrightMesh Talk

Same app, new name. You'll see BrightMesh Talk in the window title, the tray, the installer and on every page.

Nothing to click: the new name is already on every screen

  • A new web address: talk.brightmesh.ai

Your old bookmarks and links still work. They send you straight to the same page on the new address. You may need to sign in once more.

Nothing to click: old links forward to the new address by themselves

  • Everyone at your company is in your people list

Once your owner connects Microsoft 365, colleagues who haven't joined yet show under "Not joined yet". You can't call them yet, but one tap opens a Teams chat to invite them.

    Where: Chatshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app

  • Owners connect Microsoft 365 from the console

Connecting your company's Microsoft 365 is now a step in the owner console, so the people list fills in by itself and stays up to date when people join or leave.

    Where: Owner consolehttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/console

  • Updates reach your PC in stages

New versions go to a small group first and to everyone else once they've proved themselves, so a bad update can't reach the whole company at once. Your owner decides which group each person is in.

Nothing to click: the app picks the right updates by itself

  • See what changed after each update

The first time the PC app opens after an update, a short card tells you what's new. Close it and it won't come back for that version.

Version 0.1.0: First release

  • Pick light or dark for yourself

Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to every device and the page never flashes the wrong colour while it loads.

    Where: Settings, then Themehttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app/settings

  • Pin, save and get reminded about any message

Under More on a message: pin it so the whole conversation can find it, save it just for you, or set a reminder that goes off on time. Your saves and reminders are private to you.

    Where: My follow-upshttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/app/follow-ups

  • Read how your voice and data are handled

There is a plain-English privacy page. It covers what is recorded, the text version, how long it is kept, where it is stored in Australia, and who to ask for a copy or a deletion. You can read it without signing in.

    Where: Privacyhttps://talk.brightmesh.ai/privacy

  • Know when a new version is ready

When we release an update, a message appears at the bottom of the screen. If you have unsaved work it saves it first, and it never refreshes the page on its own.

Nothing to click: the message appears by itself when an update is out

  • See what changed

This page lists every release in plain English, newest first, with a link to the screen each change is on.
